This year, the awards were sold out and extra seating had to be provided for. The awards took this as a sign that the Assegai Awards are topping the charts for being recognised as an Apex event in the lives of direct marketers.

The awards reported that the 2019 theme 'African Dream' had a significantly positive response. The MCs inlcuded Nina Hastie and Tats Nkonzo. All entries were individually scored by an expert panel of judges and the final scores were audited by an independent auditor.
