JAM South Africa aims to help the Rainbow Day Care Centre in Lanseria, Johannesburg to provide a safe, supportive environment for children so that their parents can go out to work.

Lotters Pine identified an opportunity to make the centre’s sickbay experience less uncomfortable by donating a quality bed and mattress.

"We hope that our donation will help the Rainbow Day Care children be more comfortable if they are sick. [That way], they can recover faster and get back to playing and learning with their friends," says Lotters Pine director, Armando Teixeira.

"As part of our 50th birthday celebrations this year, we are looking at ways to give back to our customers and communities,” Teixiera says. “This is just one of the ways we have been able to do that."

The bed and mattress were delivered on Nelson Mandela Day, with Lotters Pine staff donating 67 minutes of their time to deliver and construct it.

"This is a great imitative, and we thank and support JAM South Africa for all its good work that it does at over 2 000 schools across South Africa. We need to take care of our vulnerable, and children definitely fall into that category," concludes Armando.
