By now fans around the continent have had their first taste of Channel O’s new soccer show, Goal Diggerz – and Tuesday, 23 February sees the second episode take over lounges around the continent.

After the appearance of South African striker, Nathan Paulse, in episode one, it’s the turn of another South African top international player, Steven Pienaar, who is a veteran of the European soccer scene, having played abroad for 10 years.

Currently playing winger for Everton, one of the UK’s premier soccer clubs, Steven welcomes host, Lungile Radu, into his Liverpool home, where he is surrounded by pictures and artifacts that reflect those who have inspired him over the years – including President Nelson Mandela.

The former AFC Ajax player (who confesses to still missing the Dutch club) lets Lungsta poke around in his fridge and walk-in clothes closet; shows off his awesome car collection; and also gives Lungile a tour of his games room filled with memorabilia and a huge red couch that Steven chose, in spite of pressure to go with the blue colour of his club.

Goal Diggerz season one also features some hot music videos and the ‘Goal Diggerz Challenge’ which sees Africa’s most accomplished footballers facing off with Lungsta in a hotly fought game of rock, paper, scissors and a few other fun things.

There’s also always something for wannabe global football stars who want to learn a trick or two from Goal Diggerz’s resident expert, Chris Njokwana. He drops into each show to demo a move or two and schools viewers on a few essential footballing tricks.

It all makes for brilliant viewing in a show that brings football; personalities; music; and fun into one package.

Episode two of Goal Diggerz season one airs on Tuesday, 23 February at 21:00.
