Niknaks is launching a brand new flavour, and will be scorching up the country’s major centres with a roadshow in July and August.

Niknaks has become renowned as the flavour of youth and, after extensive research into what makes South African tastebuds tick, the streetwise snack will soon be available in an awesome new flavour – Cheese and Sweet Chilli.

Cape Town, Joburg and Pretoria will all get a taste of the action when top rapper NVeigh (aka Nik the Nak) and Selimathunzi presenter Kaos, as well as a variety of the nation’s top musical talent will go on the road to empower the youth with a potent mixture of hip-hop, house, fashion and fun, for free.

First up is Cape Town, with two shows taking place at the Thusong Centre in Khayelitsha in July. The morning show will feature DJ Azul and a mystery muso who’ll get the party pumping.

As part of the road show, learners at the seventeen high schools in Khayelitsha have been invited to design their own outfits. The best design will be chosen at each school, and will be made up by a local seamstress before being modelled at the fashion show. The top three winning creations, as judged by a panel of residents, will be awarded Edgars gift vouchers to the value of R3 000, R1 000 and R500 respectively. A stab at fame and national recognition also awaits, as the victors will feature in a glamorous fashion shoot on the pages of Move magazine.

During the afternoon show in Cape Town, things will hot up during a ‘rap-off’, where Cape Town’s top rappers will pit their skills against each other. Kwaito sensation L’vovo will also make an appearance at the gig.

The new Joburg launch of the new flavour will take place at Mondeor High School in August. This event will feature a ‘sound clash’ between hip-hop artists and house artists who’ll battle it out for supremacy. L’vovo, Molemi and Tuks will also perform, as well as the sensational Morbid dance crew. Also keep an eye out for the exciting new innovation in animated audience interaction!

The road show wraps up in Pretoria at the State Theatre’s Opera Theatre on Saturday, 16 August, with Tuks keeping the crowd on its toes and various dance troupes adding to the vibe.

Entry to all the shows is free, but Joburgers and Capetonians are asked to bring an item of clothing for charity instead of a cover charge.

The four events will be filmed and flighted on Selimathunzi from mid-August.
