Nicholson has worked in the media industry since 1995. His career has spanned both print and digital media. He joined the industry as an advertising sales consultant at RamsayMedia and in 1999 Nicholson became an early adopter in the digital space as sales manager for their digital division.
In 2008 he joined Media24 as business manager for
Topcar magazine. Nicholson was then appointed as head of sales for the central sales division, and in 2015 he was appointed general manager of advertising at Media24 Lifestyle. This year, he led his sales team to an overall win at the
MOST Awards in the
Best Print Sales Team category. Nicholson is also currently part of the Naspers Emerging Leaders programme.
