"The [Madex] show came out as number one within both the Best Trade Show under 6,000m2 and the Best Expo Social Media categories, a real coup for a show that was launched just last year," says Nick Sarnadas, event director at Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery.
According to AAXO, the ROAR awards are aimed at acknowledging and recognising excellence in exhibition organisation. Entries for the trade show category were judged based on a successful strategy, incorporating marketing, PR, operations, and activation. Criteria for the social media campaign award included the show’s social media campaign objectives versus outcomes.
"There is nothing more gratifying than recognition from your peers in the industry for a job well done," adds Sarnadas. "As the event organiser, we put a huge amount of time and effort into the inaugural Madex show last year, and this type of formal acknowledgement validates the Madex brand and everything behind it."
"The ROAR awards give the Madex show a unique distinction now, and one that will set us apart from our competitors within the marketplace," he says.
Madex 2018 will take place on Wednesday, 6 June and Thursday, 7 June at the Sandton Convention Centre, and is co-located once again with Markex 2018, Africa’s premier promotional event, now in its 31st year. The two expos will run side-by-side to aim to provide a full-spectrum marketing trade expo, right through from below- to above-the-line marketing.
