The limited-edition packs form part of a comprehensive 'Grandparents Day' campaign that OUMA has launched. The campaign aims to recognise these stalwarts of our South African communities and reinforce the connections that we have with our grandparents.

"No matter how you refer to your grandparents, we wanted to remind people of the powerful impact grandparents have had on our lives, not just on this one day but throughout the year," says Nerina Singh, assistant brand manager at Ouma Rusks.

"Grandparents Day is the ideal opportunity to celebrate our grandparents by sharing in experiences, and what better way than to spend time together than over tea and rusks and enjoy a special '#dippingtime' moment’," adds Singh.

While one side of the limited-edition packs will be rebranded with these different variations of what many people call their grandmothers, the original OUMA branding that has become a recognisable South African icon will still be displayed on the other side of the pack.

The campaign also features local personalities, inlcuding Minki van der Westhuizen, Kriya Gangiah, Jonathan Boynton-Lee and Bahumi Mhlongo, who have recorded Grandparents Day messages and reminiscences, which will be shared as the campaign kicks off. ’"It just makes so much sense that OUMA Rusks celebrates oumas," concludes van der Westhuizen.

The limited edition of OUMA packs is now available in-store nationwide.
