SEM says that previously, the agency's primary focus was not on award submissions but rather on the impact of its work and its dedication to solving clients' challenges.

Having strategically and successfully reached its eighth year, SEM is entering the awards arena, the agency says.

Danilo Acquisto, CEO of SEM, says, "It's a chance for us to recognise that perhaps the focus on results and passion for the work are enough to be award-worthy. As an agency, we should overthink less and celebrate more."

According to the agency, its selection for the Assegai Awards judging panel is a step in that direction as a leading benchmark for African marketing excellence.

Acquisto adds, "Awards are spaces to share knowledge, to question, take a breath and look wider and to allow teams to receive formal recognition for the incredibly hard work they put into their every day. We aim to harness our combined passion to test industry standards and help ensure Africa's place on the global map."

The judges are as follows:

  • Modiegi Mokgopa, video producer
  • Casey Mantle, head of digital
  • Aleksandra Surogina, ops manager, and
  • Danilo Acquisto, CEO.

According to SEM, the Assegai Awards symbolise a dedication to excellence, innovation and setting standards in digital marketing.

For SEM, serving as judges is a chance to foster industry growth, support new talent and strengthen Africa's presence on the global creative stage, the agency concludes.
