The Marketing Association of South Africa (MA(SA)) has announced the appointment of several new board members, as well as the election of a new chairperson – McDonald’s South Africa’s Corporate Affairs director, Sechaba Motsieloa.
The MA(SA) board does not only reflect the diversity of the South African business landscape; it also represents all industries and sectors from banking to FMCG to telecommunication. “As a section 21 company, MA(SA) works with advisory councils of high-profile corporate and individual marketers, academics, experts and thought-leaders, to address issues of national and strategic interest to the profession,” says Motsieloa. “Furthermore, our experienced and diverse board brings a wealth of knowledge that our members can draw from.”
Motsieloa’s passion for the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry, as well as his fascination with consumer behaviour dynamics, has seen him advance his career steadily at McDonald’s since 2004. In his current position as director of Corporate Affairs, McDonald’s South Africa he is responsible for human resources, business strategy, payroll and communications. Up until 2011, Motsieloa filled the position of Marketing and Communications director for McDonald’s South Africa, where he was required to provide the strategic Marketing and Communications Plan for the company to ensure that it achieved its business imperatives and goals.
“This is a major coup for Sechaba, and we at McDonald’s South Africa are extremely proud of him,” said Greg Solomon, managing director, McDonald’s South Africa. “This gives credibility to the strength and skills of our leadership team, acknowledging them as thought Leaders and Experts in their field of specialisation.”
