Leading South African retail fashion brand, TFG (The Foschini Group), hosted a prize giving lunch on Friday, 12 October at The Test Kitchen in Cape Town for the top three Gift Card designs.
Kathryn Sakalis, TFG CRM and Communications general manager; Nicol Rademeyer, Markham Visual Merchandise manager; Craig Native, fashion designer and Dion Chang, Trends analyst and freelance trends writer were the judges in attendance.
Says Sakalis, “Since design and innovation are such an integral part of TFG’s culture, it was only natural that we decided to run a student design competition. The 2012 Gift Card competition compliments design competitions run by the Group, specifically for fashion students over the past 10 years.”
The winning design was created by Loucelle Mohanlal from Inscape Design College Rosebank who received a R 25 000 TFG Gift Card to be used at any one of the Group’s 17 retail outlets nationwide. In addition TFG will donate R 10 000 to Inscape Design College towards a bursary for a promising and passionate design student.
Second and third place went to Kobie Nieuwoudt and Matthew Crisp respectively, both students at CPUT in Cape Town. As runner up Nieuwoudt received a TFG gift card to the value of R 10 000 and Crisp a R 5 000 gift card.
