With his vast experience spanning 23 years of tasting Cape wines, Atkin’s South African report provides an alternative point of view to the wines from this region. Atkin, who feels “very positive about the future of Cape wine”, tasted more than 700 wines between December 2012 and April for his report.

Showing remarkable consistency as one of South Africa’s top dessert wines, Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest 2010, the fifth consecutive vintage to achieve a 5-star rating from Platter’s South African Wine Guide, now boasts a score of 95 points from this respected wine writer.

Not to be outdone Fleur du Cap’s Laszlo 2008, Unfiltered Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, Unfiltered Sauvignon Blanc 2012 and Unfiltered Semillon 2011 all followed suit with 92-point ratings, whilst the Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Merlot achieved a score of 90.
