Myburgh Chemalyis a seasoned glossy magazine editor, with 20 years’ experience in the magazine and lifestyle media industry. She has worked for all of the major media houses in South Africaand has extensive experience in all areas of the décor, design, fashion and lifestyle media.
Her editorship positions have included the following: Editor of ELLE SA as well as VISI magazine, Food and Home Entertaining and Leading Architecture and Design. She is also the co-founder with Leigh Ord of the fashion charity, Vintage with Love, raising funds for childhood literacy, as well as partner in a line of contemporary handmade jewellery called The Makery. She has consulted on editorial projects and assisted several South African publishers with training and mentoring of journalists and editors. She has lectured in fashion media at Lisof, and many of the up-and-coming figures in South Africa's fashion and lifestyle media are her protégés.
While at the helm of VISI, she oversaw the re-launch of VISI.co.za and drove the title’s social media strategy. In consulting with publishers as well as brands, Myburgh Chemaly promotes a 360° approach to communication, where print and digital media work hand in hand.
