2017 SATMA Awards extends its closing date for nominations

The theme for the 12^th annual SATMA event is 'Celebrating Legends', whereby traditional music will be acknowledged and celebrated for preserving and exhibiting indigenous music of South Africa.

Participants can nominate their favourite artist, group, radio station, DJ, listener, or programme by completing a nomination form that can be downloaded on the SATMA Awards website. The artist/s or group/s must have recorded their albums in the period from March 2016 to February.

The completed nomination forms must be sent to the SATMA Awards head office accompanied by a CD/DVD, artist/s or group/s photograph and a profile or biography by Friday, 21 July.

The 12^th annual SATMA Awards nominees will be announced on Saturday, 12 August at the Durban ICC, KwaZulu-Natal. To vote for an artist, group, radio station, DJ, listener, or programme, participants can SMS (SATMA, the name of the potential nominee, and the category) to 34066. SMS costs R1.50 (free SMS’s do not apply).

There are five vehicles to be won and R20 000 per winner, as well as two overseas trips. 

SATMA Awards 2017 main events will be hosted in Bokone Bophirima province on Friday, 29 September and Saturday, 30 September.
