Wrapped magazine has launched its sleek, new look website - enabling readers to view the magazine at their convenience, 24/7.

Morne Ebersohn, publisher of gay magazine Wrapped, explains how magazines are doing themselves a disservice by not having a digital platform to support copies sold on shelves. “Many of our readers are very techno savvy and prefer to read online, where they can view archived copies as well as partake in surveys and forums.”

The easy navigable site highlights leading articles from the magazine, where to dine, music, car reviews and polls to ensure the interactivity readers like.

Ebersohn says hits increased from 20 000 in November 2008 to 62 000 in December 2008, while visits in January 2009 were up by 89%.

“With Wrapped editorial not shying away from controversial issues, current trends are always being explored, with thought provoking lead articles such as appeared in the December issue exploring findings from Professor Jaco Greef, a genetics professor at the University of Pretoria, who explains whether people wish to accept it or not, genetic programming and sexual orientation go hand in hand.”
