Gostner moves from his role as head of strategy for the broadcaster while Naidoo has been the 947 station manager for 15 years. Gostner has 20 years of experience in the media industry; 11 of those are with Primedia.
Naidoo has been with Primedia Broadcasting for 21 years. As station manager, he has played a critical role in the conceptualisation and execution of creative campaigns for advertisers.
As chief creative officer, he will be working closely with clients to deliver creative and effective commercial content across all four stations; 947, Kfm 94.5, 702 and CapeTalk.
Naidoo says that he is excited to grow and develop in a new role at Primedia. "We crossed the million listeners mark in May according to the BRC Ram survey, and I am encouraged by the mix of youth and experience who will take 947 forward," says Naidoo.
Thando Makhunga, who has been group music manager for Primedia, is the 947 station manager designate. She will work closely with Naidoo to transition into the role.
Makhunga joined Primedia as the Kfm music compiler eight years ago and moved up the ranks to take on roles as music manager for 947, and then group music manager.
"Thando understands the history and heritage of Primedia Broadcasting and 947. She has a thorough understanding of the staff and station strategy and has enormous potential to do great things in this role," Naidoo adds.
Primedia Group CEO, Omar Essack, says, "We have powerful brands that are thriving in the marketplace, and I believe that Karl, Ravi and Thando are the best people to take us to greater heights in their new roles."
