SABC 3 and Stella Artois recently unveiled the new reality show The Taste Master, which follows the search for the next foodie sensation. The series shows South Africa's culinary sensations being put to the test with a series of tasks, as they compete to become the new 'resident foodie' on SABC 3's Afternoon Express.

The winner will be able to use the platform to showcase their talents, while making a name for themselves as an industry leader in the culinary space. Katulondi says that he's looking forward to changing another person's life forever. "I'm excited to be hosting The Taste Master because I love food, I love people and the art of bringing them together is the most interesting thing about this show for me," Katulondi says.

"More importantly though, I'll get to see someone's dream come true. I'll get to go on a journey with the contestants as they discover their passions and how to apply them to overcome the various challenges thrown at them," he adds.

Katulondi won last year's season of Presenter Search on SABC3, which saw him win the host position of SABC 3's Top Billing. "Having my career boosted by a similar show, I can confirm that being part of a show like this opens up your career — and your world — to new ventures. I'm excited to see what it's going to do for our contestants," says Katulondi.

Katulondi says that The Taste Master is different to what South Africans have seen on television before because a presentation element plays a big part in this series. "This show is different from all the other cooking shows because it's not just about the dish. Being a good cook can certainly help you get far in the competition but The Taste Master is about more than that," he says.

"There needs to be flair! There needs to be passion — not only in your meal but also in how you present it. It all needs to come alive at once and I think that if a contestant is able to do that, while showing us who they are through their food, they will be well on the road to being The Taste Master," says Katulondi.

Auditions for the reality show are open until midnight on Tuesday, 22 October. Individuals who would like to enter are invited to record a video of themselves saying why they would be perfect for the role. The video can be uploaded onto Twitter or Instagram with the hashtags '#TheTasteMasterSA' and '#StartWithAStella'.

The Taste Master will premiere on Tuesday, 12 November at 19:30 on SABC 3.
