"We were very proud to confirm Barbara Blake Hannah has given her name to a new
British Journalism Award in the hope it will help inspire other journalists to break through barriers," says the team behind the awards.
"With entries open until Wednesday, 30 September, we wanted to reveal more details about the 2020 ceremony," adds the team. "The
British Journalism Awards was the first such event to be open to all journalists wherever they work. Now in 2020, the awards, for the first time, will be entirely virtual."
"In other changes, we have recruited new judges to ensure the panel more fairly and accurately reflects the make-up of the United Kingdom as a whole in terms of diversity," the team says.
The team concludes that there is now a 50 / 50 gender split among the 76 judges. The full list of the panel is available for viewing
here.
