The radio station says that his exceptional knowledge of music contributed to the success of both the
Throwback Riot and
Sunday Feels shows.
"Flax is a radio professional and has worked extremely hard to understand all aspects of the medium. We are incredibly proud of Flax and what he has achieved at
Y and he will always be a true example of what the brand stands for. We will miss his contribution to the station," says Haseena Cassim, managing director of
Y. "I have grown hugely — both professionally as a broadcaster and personally. I will forever be grateful to
Y for giving me a start in the industry and for giving me a platform to add my voice to the conversation of the youth of South Africa. It is with pride that I am able to say that I started my journey at
Y," concludes DJ Flax.
Y has wished Flax success as he follows a new adventure and has thanked him for his time at the station.
