The idea for this special segment came from a candid conversation between Martin Bester, Co-Host, Philicity Reeken and Sports Presenter Xola Ntshinga, during their weekly How Hard Can It Be? segment, says the radio station.

The team debated how easy — or tough — it would be for someone to host Jacaranda FM's breakfast show. This led to the decision to give listeners the chance to test their skills live on air, says Jacaranda FM.

According to the radio station, Liesa Jansen van Rensburg took on the ultimate challenge of stepping into Bester's seat as the show's lead host. Meanwhile, Lance Williams took over Reeken's duties, serving as Co-Host while also updating listeners on traffic. Wayne Ellis completed the trio, filling in for Ntshinga by delivering the morning sports updates.

The morning was filled with excitement, nerves and a newfound appreciation for the fast-paced demands of live radio, says the radio station.

"It was a whole lot of fun meeting Liesa, Lance and Wayno Insano and having them stepping into our roles as breakfast show hosts," says Bester.

"When it comes to our morning show, we always set out to make it as interactive as possible. This is another step closer to interacting with those who make part of our morning family. We never ever shy to take chances on the show and always set out to do something surprising and different. Seeing our listeners try their hand at presenting a radio show was so entertaining," adds Bester.

Jacaranda FM concludes, hearing Jansen van Rensburg, Williams and Ellis try their hand at presenting Breakfast With Martin Bester gave listeners an insider's view of the intricate dynamics that go into producing a live radio show. It also served as a reminder of the talent and skill required to keep Jacaranda FM listeners informed and entertained during the popular morning breakfast slot.
