The Dingalings Productions have done work in all genres of theatre; in mainly productions of their own, but also worked with various other producers. The management and artists are highly qualified in their fields and their popularity is a testament of their experience. They have contributed to charity and continue to do so; in some cases raising up to R60 000 (for UNICEF last year). Chops Choons and Spano Dops was a hit show in 2008 that played to packed houses and ran a total of 36 shows.

Comedy has not been to taken to these heights before; with the realism of what is seen on stage; the guys are a punctual dose of the uncle next door when you have a function and the popular Blue Lagoon gangster wannabe. They all work at the same place and have decided to celebrate Pranesh’s stag at Parkrynie.

The end of the run last year was emotional for many. Fans even called in to say that they are going to miss the show. Now, these are people who kept coming back to see it again and again.

The interesting part about the show, was that it was directed by a woman. Kumseela Naidoo (a renowned actress and comedian) said, "The cast were a delight to work with. Each brought to the role their own individuality and creative flair from their wealth of experience both as experienced performers as well as expert drinkers. I had the enviable task of having in-depth insight into the male pysche in their various brain-storming sessions each serving to consolidate my scorn of how fickle men really are and my belief that women are the superior sex.

The decision to call it 'The Last Chance Show' came from the fact that it had a full run last year and that I don't know if and when I will bring it back to Phoenix.

"I have decided take the reins and bring it back to Phoenix for one show only at the Sunford Primary School Hall on Friday, 27 November. It is a new hall that needs the publicity as well as the business. If you haven’t as yet watched this much raved about show then you have missed a great theatre experience in the 'adult' genre. The farce centres around a young man that is confused about marriage and he makes this apparent at his stag which is held at Parkrynie. The hilarious anecdotes and witty ‘come backs’ are reminiscent to most campers at that popular spot which can be likened to Blue Lagoon or La Mercy.

"I was being pestered by many of my friends here in Phoenix to bring this show back and although it is a costly affair; I have decided to take the plunge and give it a go. Patrons that have already watched the show will agree with me that you would still want to watch it again. The entertainment value is high and so is the value for money; as you get almost two and a half hours of absolute fun. The Dingalings Productions brand of comedy is essentially the alternative to the Eurocentric pantomime that encompasses music, ridicule, drag and innuendo. I have also found a lot of truths that are explored in these pieces that come across as funny largely because they reflect our inner emotions. The cast work together like a well oiled machine and many audience members have enquired if the actors were really drunk in the drunk scenes. It still amazes me that people can get so involved in a theatre piece. The cast includes Senzo Mthetwa (The unassuming majority); Koobeshan Naidoo (The over-caring thatha); Henry Ramkissoon (The wise fool); Ravi Subramoney (The quiet musician); and Pranesh Maharaj (The bungling groom). Chops Choons and Spano Dops was directed by Kumseela Naidoo and the script was conceived by Yugen Naidu.
