The singing and rapping talent competition is targeting schools in the following Mzansi provinces: Kwa-Zulu Natal; Western Cape; Eastern Cape; Free State; and Mpumalanga.
The competition covers all signing or rapping genres performed by solo artists: R’n B; Hip Hop; Afro-pop; Pop; Rock; Kwaito; House; and Reggae.
Would-be entrants are required to enter the competition by choosing one of the options below:

Schools AuditionsParticipating schools are required to organize their own 'Mini
Jam Alley Auditions' to find 10 contestants that will qualify and compete at the Provincial Semi Finals.
Provincial Semi FinalsOnce Top 10 contestants have been selected from a participating school, they have to be registered to compete with other schools in the Provincial Semi Finals, which will be held in a provincial city. The
Jam Alley team will host the Provincial Semi Finals and there will be a team of judges that will select the top three contestants from the province. The event will be covered in one episode of the show.
Provincial FinalsThe three winners from each province will be flown to Johannesburg to be contestants on the actual
Jam Alley show. They will compete against each other for the provincial title and only one winner will be selected.
National FinalsWinners from the Provincial Finals will be flown to Johannesburg to battle it out against each other for the
Jam Alley School vs School National Title.
The winner will take home R10 000 cash for him/herself and R20 000 will go towards their school’s AV equipment or computer lab equipment.
