One of the show’s longest-running presenters, Kaos Matu, has decided to call it quits in order to pursue other opportunities. Kaos has been co-presenting the youth show for over 10 years.

The search to unearth fresh talent on Selimathunzi will kick in start on Saturday, 12 March in Gauteng.

“The objectives of the talent search are two-fold; the need to fully reload and refresh this popular variety show on the one hand and, the Channel’s commitment to continue to unearth and to showcase fresh youthful talent, says Vukile Madlala, the Channel’s Publicity Manager.

Entry Criterion

Aspirants must be male, between 21 and 25 years old and Nguni-speaking.
Should be able to move to JHB should they be selected.
Someone talented, multi-faceted and able to work perfectly with Zizo.
Able to communicate with various people from different provinces
Should fully understand SABC1 as a brand
Should easily resonate with SABC1 target audiences
They should have something new to add to the show
Willing to travel and interview the young and old and able to tell Mzansi stories in a way that our audiences will enjoy.

A panel of Judges drawn from the channel, production and Mzansi’s celebrities will attend regional auditions to assist in discovering untapped talent. Only five exceptional aspirants will be selected from the provinces to go into the next stage of the auditioning process, which will see viewers afforded the opportunity to cast a vote for their favourite aspiring presenters.
