M-Net has added another channel to the DStv bouquet, Magic World. The channel will feature a diverse selection of entertainment, including original productions, African film fare, sport, classic series repeats and link-ups to some of the other brands offered by the television programmer. The channel was introduced to the DStv bouquet in mid-October on channel 144, and features original and African music selections, which are fed directly from Channel O. The day’s viewing also includes African documentary series, and repeats of popular game shows and reality series, such as Temptation, Deal or No Deal and Survivor SA: Panama. Magic World will also tap into kTV’s offering for the kids, as well as GO’s teen viewing, which includes the innovative SMS-2-TV show, GoChat. The channel will also become the one of the first in Africa to screen telenovelas, which are shows that are high on melodrama in miniseries format, paraded as the future of popular television. There will also be a great line-up of complex dramas such as Jacob’s Cross and Snitch, while an offering from SuperSport is also brought forward. The channel aims to give the whole family something, as well as a large supply of movie titles from AfricaMagic’s continental film drawer. Magic World is available on Channel 144 on DStv.
