Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will mesmerise audiences with his Qawwali's to Bollywood Chart topping hits and an array of brand new songs from his new album that is soon to be launched in South Africa. Born into a family of Qawwals and classical singers who have a musical legacy that spans 600 years, he was groomed from the age of 15 by his uncle and mentor, the late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

He debuted as a playback singer in the 2003 Bollywood movie Paap, featuring the hit song, Mann Ki Lagan. His recent works include Pakistani national songs such as Dharti Dharti and Hum Pakistan, and many all time favorites from Bollywood, such as Allah Jaane, O Re Piya, Surili Akhiyon Wale, Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, Teri Meri, Tera Deedar Hua, and Mere Bina Tu. His consistent creations in Pakistan have resulted in hit after hit in Bollywood and success in Hollywood, and he has been presented with numerous awards. To name some films with his songs - Bodyguard, My Name is Khan, Ishqiya, Dabanng, Anjana Anjani and many more.

He has performed and collaborated with many top names in the music and film industries, such as Mel Gibson for Apocolypto, The Beastie Boys, Pearl Jam, Rival Schools, the B-52's, Bono, Mos Def, and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. His distinctive, high pitched voice effortlessly embraces the elevating aesthetic of qawwali tradition. He debuted in America in the summer of 2000 with two high-profile performances at Central Park and in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl, to critical acclaim. He has also performed several times at London's Wembley Arena.

He has toured globally with his international promoters, Portfolio Marketing & Events and has performed to capacity audiences of thousands in top venues and arenas and has left audiences enthralled.

Performances take place on Saturday, 15 February at The International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban at 20:00 with tickets from R200 per person and on Sunday, 16 February at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg at 17:00 with tickets from R250 per person.
