The Master Chef recently returned from Abu Dhabi, where she represented South Africa at the annual Taste of Abu Dhabi

Early in the year she was invited to the Taste of Moscow in Russia and an exclusive media event in Poland, where her show has been topping the charts. Over the past two years, she performed in Dubai, Lisbon, London and Belgium to name a few.

In September, she was featured for interviews on both Good Morning Britain and The Lorriane Show, two of the most popular shows in the UK.

Back home, Mtongana was honoured to be a judge at the star-studded 2015 Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards, where she had the opportunity to review her peers in the industry.

A brand new season of Siba’s Table on DStv’s Food Network channel kicked off in October 2015. The television show first aired in September 2013 and was an instant hit worldwide. She was the first South African to have her own television show broadcast on The Cooking Channel in America, with a reach of 60-million homes. Siba’s Table is now aired in more than 130 countries in Africa, the UK, Europe, the Middle East, USA, Australia and Asia.

She has achieved numerous international and local accolades, including three Galliova Award's for recipe development, food styling and food journalism. Mtongana made Oprah Magazine’s 2014 O Power List of 21 African women rocking the world.

The award-winning food writer’s focus now shifts to the launch of her debut cookbook. The launch is expected this December, perfectly timed for the festive season and makes for the ideal Christmas gift. More than just a cookbook, My Table boasts an exclusive in-depth look into Mtongana’s recipes with narration included; capturing everything from her local African roots to her international travels. It is written and designed by Mtongana and her husband Brian, working alongside an excellent team. It will be the first cookbook to uniquely feature a Quick Response (QR) code taking readers immediately to videos of Mtongana preparing some of her dishes.

“I am overly excited about it and I’ve been working on the cookbook for quite some time. We started production 8 months ago. It’s one of those things I’ve always wanted to do but I wanted to do it right, now everything has fallen perfectly into place,” says Mtongana.

Catch Siba’s Table every Friday at 20:00 on Food Network, channel 175 on DStv.

My Table will be available in Woolworths stores across South Africa from Monday, 14 December.
