"We are in an age of digitalisation where it's expected of PR to be more forthcoming with innovative ideas," says Moalusi. "PR plays a key role in achieving this; producing content which is digitally driven and aims to align with the business objectives."

Clockwork, an independent agency, is making bold strides in the PR industry by bringing the ex-Daily Sun editor on board. While advising the broader South African media, strategic media relations and stakeholders have been Moalusi’s go-to, he now faces a new challenge.

"It all comes down to making your client's presence relevant and reliable," Moalusi says. "As much as the media is going through the digital revolution, PR is also walking side by side with the media."

Moalusi has written, "Clockwork isn't a traditional PR agency. It's the type of business that asks what clients want and aligns itself accordingly. Clients requiring PR services need a lot more digital expertise, and Clockwork delivers on all these necessities. This is the type of agency you want to work with."

Moalusi says that he remains energised for the challenges ahead and strives to fill the shoes as content director on Standard Bank. "It's been an exciting journey working on the Standard Bank account thus far and it sounds exciting going forward. We want to do amazing things for Standard Bank, and I'm sure we will hit it out of the park," Moalusi concludes.
