In a strong commitment to combat gender-based violence (GBV) and support survivors across the nation, Cell C, in partnership with TEARS Foundation, has taken action to advance gender equality and ensure safety in relationships, homes and communities.
As part of this effort, Cell C says that it will support the Tears Foundation Crisis Line by providing recurring SIM packages for the next 12 months.
This partnership provides access to free, 24 / 7 crisis intervention, advocacy, counselling and prevention education services for those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and child sexual abuse, ensuring access to vital resources and support, all year round, says Cell C.
"The partnership with Tears Foundation reflects our commitment to being a force for good in the communities we serve," says Lethiwe Hlatshwayo, Cell C's Managing Executive of Corporate Communication. "By supporting the Tears Foundation Crisis Line, we are taking tangible steps to amplify support for survivors of GBV, ensuring that no one faces these challenges alone. This partnership is a vital part of our mission to help build a safer, more connected South Africa — where access to critical support is available to everyone, anytime, anywhere."
"Through this partnership, we reaffirm our commitment to addressing societal challenges through collaborative action," says Mara Glennie, Founder of TEARS Foundation.
"The TEARS Crisis Line, available 24 / 7 at 0800 083 277, offers survivors a compassionate space to seek help and take the courageous step towards healing. Together with Cell C, we are paving the way for lasting, positive change by raising awareness and providing vital resources to support survivors of GBV across South Africa," concludes Glennie.
