'Women, the Real Architects of Society' is a concept launched by Madibeng in 2011 with the aim of allowing a day’s event to provide women an opportunity to network and celebrate womanhood whilst examining key topics.

Guest speakers for the event included Dr. Anna Mokgokong, Dr. Victor Ramathesele, Iona Minton as well as Connie Ferguson. Discussion points covered included all issues relevant to today’s modern day woman. Thami Ngubeni added flavour to the day as a jovial and entertaining emcee.

“It is key that women be given the tools for their upliftment and be given access to information relevant to all areas of their dynamic lifestyles” smiles Joan. “It was a wonderful privilege to host fellow Women, and inspire them in a small way.”

The day commenced at 11:00 and ran through until 19:00. Entertainment saw performances from Brian Temba and the Richman dancers. Attendees were spoiled with goody bags and prize giveaways including DSTV HD PVR decoders, Cum and Penguin books, Mizani hampers and ladies items from P&H Boutique

The event also had a strong CSI angle, with a percentage of all income being donated to a charity close to Madibeng’s heart, the SOS Mamelodi Village and five short courses from The Open Window – School of Visual Communication bursary’s were given to high school matriculants.
