This is why Roman’s Pizza is honouring Mandela Day 2015 and the memory of a great leader, by supporting various initiatives that are making a difference in their local communities.

This year Roman’s Pizza’s is celebrating the day by focusing on programmes that work with children, in acknowledgment of the fact that the South African youth are the future of the country. This includes: a cash donation of R10 000 towards establishing a large vegetable garden as part of the Feed A Child sustainability programme; providing Talent Etc Outreach with 15 double large boxes of pizza, which will go to the Kruger Childrens Home in Pretoria, catering for around 60 children; donating R2000 to Compass.org in support of the 84 children in their care; giving the young patients in the Leratong Paediatric Ward 6 double large boxes of pizza to brighten up their day (in partnership with the SAME Foundation); and sending a food parcel with spaghetti bolognaise, maize meal and chicken to the Ubuhle Christian School in Bronkhorstspruit, in order to feed 80 school children.

Bonnie Lee, head of Marketing for Roman’s Pizza, says, “Individual South Africans and brands alike have a responsibility to contribute to the future of this country. Mandela Day is a day for us to come together and do our bit to help.”

She adds, “Roman’s Pizza has a history of getting involved in charitable initiatives so it was a given that it would be a supporter of Mandela Day activities. We hope to bring a smile to some young faces on Friday.”
