2. Roxy Learn to Surf

Get in shape and spend time with your friends by learning to surf with Roxy. For R150 you will get an hour’s surfing lesson with professional surfing coach, Alan Wallace. See some of South Africa’s biggest stars from stage and screen putting on a spectacular evening of entertainment to help raise funds for CANSA’s Durban operations. Leading the bill for the night is Joey Rasdien, one of South Africa’s most prolific comedians. He is joined by award-winning actor, musician and vocalist Tim Wells; the multi talented comedienne, singer-dancer and actress, Lisa Bobbert; Durban choreographer and dancer, Janine Bennewith of Eeny Meeny Mino Mo Entertainment; Durban’s Diva and former
Idols Top 10 contestant, Pume Zondi; singer, Lauren Laing; and musician, Khaya Mthethwa, who is one third of music group, Black Magic.
All proceeds from the evening will go towards cancer research projects and awareness campaigns in the Durban region. Tickets for the evening are available through Computicket at R500 per person or R5 000 per table, which includes complimentary wine, a decadent selection of gourmet cuisine and an evening of top class entertainment. 4. Mercury Wine Week
Venue: SUNCOAST

Now in its 32
nd year, the annual Mercury Wine Week will once again give wine-lovers the opportunity of tasting the widest variety of wines available at one place in KwaZulu-Natal. This year over 140 of the country's top wine estates have booked their places at South Africa’s premier wine event and will be showcasing their popular ranges as well as some previously untasted wines.
This event also offers wine buyers and sellers the chance to mingle with the public and wine connoisseurs in a relaxed setting. Members of the public will also be able to buy wines at great prices over the show period. A black tie VIP premiere night takes place on Wednesday, 24 August and is set aside for invited guests and representatives of the wine industry to enjoy the event, without the hustle and bustle of public crowds.
The VIP Lounge area will add another touch of exclusivity to this year’s event, with advance booking available for a private lounge area with hospitality and entertainment. Mercury Wine Week is only open to over 18’s.
Tickets are available at R90 per person through Computicket from 1 August. Tickets will also be sold at the special SUNCOAST box office and at the door. Entry includes a free, branded wine glass for tasting. Doors open from 17:30 to 21:00 each night.

5. Sunflower Fund Hyper Fun Run and Pick n Pay Rope of Hope
Date: Sunday, 19 September
The day kicks off at 09:00 with a 5km Hyper Fun Run/Walk for Charity starting at the Zone followed by prize-giving at 11:00. Don’t miss the music and entertainment that follow the race. The entry fee is R30 and includes a Sunflower Bandana. Bandanas tied together to form a ‘Rope of Hope’ will cover the 5km route.

6. Sleeping Beauty, a Bollywood Fairytale
Venue: SUNCOAST ZONE
Date: Saturday, 18 to Sunday, 26 September
The tale of Sleeping Beauty is hardly foreign to young and old across the globe and it is for that reason that choreographer, Shivani Kara, and radio personality, Varshan Sookhun, who is the script writer, have concocted a potion that will leave audiences spellbound with popular songs; dance; and dialogue.
Sleeping Beauty, a Bollywood Fairytale includes a cast of 20 dancers and seven lead characters. The story, with a few new twists and surprises, has been choreographed and directed to appeal to all age and race groups. This live musical will be hosted at Suncoast Zone from 18 September until 26 September. Tickets will be available from Computicket; Shoprite Checkers stores; and at the Eastern Moves Production Box Office at Suncoast. Tickets are priced at R130 and R100 and all seats are reserved.
