Three elimination rounds later and she is one of the final 100 candidates. Dr. Marais will headline Heavy Chef and tell us her story on Wednesday, 25 May 2016 in Cape Town.
Dr. Marais’s PhD focuses on quantum biology – life processes that can only be understood using quantum mechanics. It is her research as well as her outstanding fitness level and lifelong determination to inhabit another planet that makes her one of the best in the running. Hers would be a one way ticket – a journey with a single purpose. Her talk at Heavy Chef will take us through her personal process towards this life-changing goal.
This event will mark an exciting milestone for the Heavy Chef brand as it transitions into a standalone brand – independent of its founders, World Wide Creative. With the introduction of a new logo, Heavy Chef is expanding its reach to cover leadership, technology and creativity.
The Technology edition of the
Heavy Chef magazine will be launched at this event. It features content authored by international, leading minds in the fields of VR, AR, AI and Robotics.
One lucky guest will win an online short course accredited by UCT and facilitated by Heavy Chef partner, GetSmarter.
This event will take place on Wednesday, 25 May 2016 at 18:00 for 18:30 at

About Heavy Chef
As an initiative of digital marketing agency World Wide Creative, the
Heavy Chef project is a platform for practical learning – where South Africa’s digital community collaborates, shares ideas and discusses the latest web marketing news. The name comes from the expression ‘Never trust a skinny chef’ and the aim is to learn from Heavy Chefs - in other words, those rare folk who eat their own food, walk the talk and practice what they preach.
Heavy Chef is sponsored by:
GetSmarter,
Ad Dynamo,
Microsoft SA,
World Wide Creative and
Backsberg Wines.
