Cue the Oxy Squad, a team of cleansing and toning super heroes who are here to help you in your fight against the dreaded Spot and his evil sidekick Blackheads and Oily Skin.

“Who hasn’t felt completely helpless when facing a pimple or any skin problem for that matter?” asks Tarrin Brewin, marketing manager for Oxy Skin Care. “We wanted to come up with a campaign that will not only educate our market about taking care of their skin, but will also help to empower them and make them feel like they have a role to play in their skin care health, and what better way to do that than with a group of super heroes.”

The Oxy Squad consists of Captain Scrub, Exfoliating Scrub; AquaBlast, Daily Face Wash; Tina Toner, Cleansing Toner; The Bar, Cleansing Soap Bar and WipeOut, Deep Cleansing Pads. Their aim is to fight The Spot, the sneakiest villain of all time and his evil cronies Blackheads and Oily Skin and to #StoptheSpot.

The campaign will be supported with four animated videos that will be launched on the Oxy Skin Care Facebook page, as well as a gaming app and in store activations. Alongside the campaign will be the launch of the Face of Oxy 2016 - The Hero Edition competition that will aim to find two local South African heroes (a girl and a guy) between the ages of 15 and 30 who will not only win R5000 cash for themselves, but also for a local charity, as well as being immortalised with their own super hero caricatures as part of the #StoptheSpot Oxy Squad.

The competition will be launched at the beginning of August and run through until September.
