It would be great if one could use a formula to calculate how long it will take for your page to rank in Google. Unfortunately, things aren't black and white when it comes to Google rankings.

There are at least 200 known ranking factors, so even doing everything by the book isn't always a guarantee that your page will reach the first page of Google.

For its study, the Ahrefs team first pulled data on the Top 10 ranking pages for each of the two million randomly selected keywords. After analysing the data, they calculated that the average Top 10 ranking page on Google was over two years old, while first-ranked pages were around three years old, on average.

The team at Ahrefs found that just 5.7% of all analysed pages ranked in the Top 10 within one year.
