"Every year, we look forward to elevating the festive season, and this year, we're pulling out all the stops to ensure that visitors to Sandton City have the world at their fingertips," says Preston Gaddy, general manager of Sandton City.

For starters, the centre court (outside Checkers) will play host to festive brand immersions for shoppers of all ages.

LEGO®'s zone will feature a maze filled with:
  • changing play zones
  • building experiences
  • a chance to add your brick to the South African flag build
  • two LEGO® brick pits
  • a Duplo zone for the children, and
  • the opportunity to shop the latest LEGO® collections with promotional offers.

The Little Generosity Shop by Cadbury Dairy Milk will aim to provide individuals with ways to spread generosity and kindness. Here, individuals can:
  • donate toys to children in need
  • enjoy a reading corner
  • get Cadbury's branded gift wrapping, and
  • do exclusive shopping in a generous chocolate world filled with treats.

According to Sandton City, Santa Claus will make an arrival to Sandton City on the first of December. He will be stationed in the centre court, where photo opportunities and merchandise extensions will be available.

Chuckles® band will stage a Life's a Ball activation on level six outside Woolworths. Visitors to this area can shop the exclusive Chuckles gifting range and personalise their Chuckles purchases right there.

In the Protea court, individuals can find a Disney plush toy adorned eight-metre-high hot air balloon in aid of Reach for a Dream. For a minimum R50 donation via a QR code, shoppers can make a difference in the life of a child with a critical illness, where both the plush and the money will be donated to the wish-granting charity.

According to Sandton City, gifts can be wrapped for a small donation towards the Sandton SPCA at a wrapping station on level six near H&M Home and level four opposite Jet.

All of the 'Festive City' activations will be open from Thursday, 1 to Tuesday, 27 December, and will be connected via the Hamley's train, with tickets available at Hamley's on the cinema level.

Live performances by local musicians will take place on the adjacent Nelson Mandela Square every Saturday and Sunday until Saturday, 24 December.

"We can’t wait to welcome shoppers to the Festive City this holiday, where wonderful memories are waiting to be made," Gaddy concludes.
