The decision to postpone the conference and awards planned for Thursday, 17 October wasn't taken lightly, according to the IMM. 

The decision was informed by various factors, including that there are many talented marketing and supply chain individuals and teams who may not yet have completed showcase-worthy projects by the initial end date for nominations, the IMM adds.

By extending the nomination period to cover the full 2024 cycle, we aim to provide a broader window for participants to submit their accomplishments, ensuring that all worthy contributions are considered and celebrated, says the IMM.

"Our gala awards dinner, which promises to be an informative and glamourous evening, has been postponed to March, with top marketers and supply chain professionals set to be honoured at the event with an extended deadline for award nominations to Wednesday, 15 January," the IMM says.

"At the banquet, we will be handing out our coveted IMM Institute Excellence Awards in 10 categories, for which we have so far received 31 nominations, each of which is being carefully considered and is in the running for the 2024 awards. By extending the closing date for nominations, we hope to encourage more people to put forward marketing and supply chain champions," adds the IMM. 

"We will also host keynote speakers from industry who will address the planned 2024 IMM Institute conference topics centred around the theme, 'Fusion of Functions: Marketing and Supply Chain – Partnership for People, Prosperity and the Planet'," says the IMM.

Of particular importance at the awards dinner are the two Lifetime Achievement Awards in Marketing and Supply Chain respectively, which will be bestowed alongside other accolades: 

  • Marketer of the Year
  • Emerging Marketer of the Year
  • Marketing Student of the Year
  • Corporate Marketing Team of the Year
  • Supply Chain Professional of the Year
  • Supply Chain Student of the Year
  • Corporate Supply Chain Team of the Year, and
  • Entrepreneur of the Year.

"It's going to be a thought-provoking and exciting evening, and we look forward to seeing all of you there," the IMM concludes.
