Sasol Hosts Sasol Mzansi Tour 2.0

The winners of the Sasol Mzansi Tour 2.0 competition spent seven days exploring the KwaZulu-Natal coastline, says Sasol.

Sasol says five content creators went along on the adventure, including MC and comedian Sipho "Alphi" Mkhwanazi, Savanna Comics' Choice Comedy Awards winner, Vafa Naraghi, travel content creator, Thabiso Sekhula, travel adventurer, Iana Strydom and celebrity chef, Chef Benny Masekwameng.

The tour explored a wide range of sights and experiences, adds the brand.

As part of the road trip, Sasol says it donated 1 200 school uniforms to students at Esiphetweni Primary School and Mzokhanyo High School, to help reduce barriers to education and enhance student participation in school. The winners and content creators got to experience the impact of Sasol's social investments.

"We live in an amazing country, yet many South Africans are still to experience the accessible and affordable attractions and destinations it has to offer. The Sasol Mzansi Tour 2.0 aimed to encourage people to explore South Africa's wonders by filling up their vehicles and hitting the road to discover new places with family and friends," says Zanele Hadebe, Vice President of Strategic Marketing for Sasol Energy Marketing and Sales.

"As a heritage brand born, bred and deeply rooted in South Africa, Sasol naturally champions road travelling to celebrate South Africa. Last year's Sasol Mzansi Tour trip inspired conversations about the country's diverse landscapes and rich culture. This year, we took it further, by showcasing what makes South Africa special and encouraged more people to experience it firsthand by road," adds Hadebe.

Jeffrey Allison, General Manager of Marketing at Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA), says, "As the vehicle partner for the Sasol Mzansi Tour 2.0, Mitsubishi Motors South Africa is proud to have been a part of an initiative that celebrates South Africa's beauty and diversity."

Councillor Thembo Ntuli, Chairperson of Economic Development and Planning Committee for the eThekwini Municipality, says, "As the City of Durban, we are delighted to have partnered in this remarkable initiative that not only celebrates our breathtaking coastline and rich cultural heritage but also invites both locals and tourists to explore the diverse beauty our region has to offer. This partnership is a testament to our unwavering commitment to enhancing tourism while uplifting our communities, firmly establishing Durban as a must-visit destination for adventure, discovery and unforgettable experiences."

Sibusiso Gumbi, Acting CEO of KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film Authority, says, "Serving as a partner to the Sasol Mzansi tour 2.0 provided the KZN Tourism and Film Authority with a chance to foster a solid partnership with an important private sector partner such as Sasol. Furthermore, KZN was able to highlight its tourism offerings along the eastern seaboard."

Sasol concludes that the competition was exclusive to Sasol Rewards members. All the winners had to do was spend R600 or more on fuel at a participating Sasol Convenience Centre, swipe and tap their Sasol Rewards card or digital card to enter the competition. Competitions like this are just one benefit of the uniquely simple and rewarding Rewards programme.
