Carat has announced the appointment of Celia Collins as managing director Johannesburg after joining the agency as Business Unit Director in June 2014. Collins will be tasked with leading the business operations for the Johannesburg office.
Collins has a proven track record with almost two decades of experience in the media and advertising industry. She has worked on brands such as SAB, Tigerbrands, Nestle, Samsung, Mondelez and GSK to name a few. Her responsibilities at SMV Group included her setting up over 32 offices on the African continent. She also won the Pan African Media Research Organization Award in 2009. With Collins’ understanding of the African media landscape, she will continue to grow the Carat business into 2015 and beyond.
Quinton Jones, Carat Group MD SA said, “I am thrilled to have Celia as head of our Johannesburg agency, and she brings a wealth of experience and will provide structure and momentum for the business going forward. I’m excited at the prospect of working with her.”
“We are delighted to have Celia on board. With her experience and track record, I am confident that this appointment is in line with our ‘Redefining’ proposition, which, in turn, will drive business growth across Sub Saharan Africa,” said Dawn Rowlands, CEO Dentsu Aegis Network SSA.
Lwandile Qokweni will be leaving Carat in May to pursue new opportunities, and Carat thanks him for the contribution he has had made to the agency during his tenure.
