It will be a full weekend of entertainment for Superbalist In The City this year, beginning on Friday, 7 October with AND Liftoff at AND Club in Newtown, followed by Virgin Braam Beach Party on Saturday, 8 October on Juta Street, and then the main event, the Superbalist In the City concert with headlining act Foster the People on Sunday, 9 October at Emmarentia Dam.

Despite the winter chill, Great Dane provided a taste of the beach vibe that will be the theme of the October event, with surf boards, deck chairs, Hawaiian-style leis, and even clips from Baywatch showing on a big screen.

At 21:00, the artist lineup announcement was made and the names were met with cheers from the festive crowd. Those artists are: AKA, Ricky Rick, Atjazz, DJ Tira, Stilo Magolide, Shekhinah, Jullian Gomes, pH, DJ Captital, and Melo B Jones.

Party-goers are encouraged to come dressed for the beach on Saturday, 8 October for an evening of house and urban vibes on Juta Street with Nelson Mandela Bridge forming the backdrop. The Friday, 7 October event will feature UK house and techno DJ, Eats Everything, as the headlining act. The highlight of the weekend, Grammy Award nominated indie pop band from the US, Foster the People, needs little introduction.

Tickets for the three different In The City weekend events can be purchased separately, at a cost of R120, R150 and R495 respectively, or a ticket for the full weekend can be purchased at a cost of R700.
