Black Coffee (Nkosinathi Maphumulo), has had a successful 2016 and has, over the past 12 months, received an
Ubuntu Award, four
SAMA’s, a historic
BET Award for
Best International Act: Africa, and
Best DJ in the
Deep House category at the 2016
Ibiza DJ Awards.
This year also marked the worldwide release of his double platinum selling album,
Pieces of Me, on Ultra Music, a remix for
Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Alicia Keys, and a five month international tour that spanned over five continents.
Regardless of Black Coffee’s success, he always stays true to his roots. December 2015 saw thousands of fans at the first ever Black Coffee Block Party, at Johannesburg’s Mary Fitzgerald Square. This year will be even bigger after moving to the FNB Staium, with the capacity to hold 20 000 people.
The line-up includes artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Rikhado ‘Riky Rick’ Makhado, DJ Oskido, Glen Lewis, and more.
