The SAMAs were a celebration of real music, and Steers partnered Vuzu TV personality DJ Speedsta, BoyznBucks, Stilo Magolide, as well as vlogger and V table host, Moshe Ndiki. Moments were snapped, tweets were tweeted, and stories were filmed as the group made their way to the annual awards in a stretch limo.
“The best thing we can all do as artists is be genuinely real on, and off, the camera,” says presenter and the brands SAMA correspondent, Moshe Ndiki. “Steers has been a champion of all things real, and what an incredible year we have had of real music. The standard of local music is right up there and we are here to celebrate the likes of Speedsta, Stilo Magolide, and many others as the best of the best.”
“It really is a blessing to be recognised by your peers. There is nothing better than knowing that you have people that are supporting you and your music, it keeps me inspired to inspire others,” says DJ Speedsta.
Steers gave away R80 000 worth of vouchers as part of the SAMAs Goodie Bag Experience in their second year as a sponsor to nominees, artists, and media personalities. Moshe Ndiki grilled some of the stars who were in attendance for the Steers #RealChat feature which included Bonang Matheba, Pearl Thusi, Stogie T, and Dj Tira, amongst others. The
The biggest night in South Africa music saw Kwetsa take home the night's biggest trophies, including Highest Airplay, Album of the year. Other SAMA winners included Amanda Black who walked away with Best Female and Best New Artist, and Nasty C with Record of the Year.
