5FM presenter Justin Toerien (Monday to Thursday from 19:00 to 22:00 and weekends from 07:00 to 10:00) will be the official MC onboard the annual Captain Morgan OH SHIP! MSC Sinfonia cruise, which sets sail on Saturday, 2 December to the Portuguese Island in Mozambique.

DJs on the decks include 5FM’s Thando Thabethe, Rob Forbes (Weekender5 Kid Fonque), DJ pH, DJ Loyd, and Ms Cosmo as well as Ultimix resident Ryan the DJ. Individuals onboard can expect 72 hours of non-stop music.

The annual Rage Festival 2017, presented by Samsung, also starts on Saturday, 2 December. The week-long event takes place at Umhlanga and Ballito in KwaZulu-Natal until Saturday, 9 December.

The station has been giving away Rage passports with exclusive backstage passes, and meet and greets, with local and international acts performing at the concerts at Sound Factory, on air, over the past few weeks. On Monday, 4 December, 5FM promoters will be at the Sound Factory activating with participants for exclusive 5FM branded hampers.

Cape Town’s Secret of Summer Clifton NYE Party will take place at Maiden’s Cove beach, in partnership with Paradise Beach and The Ballito New Year’s Event Street Party, which will take place at the Ballito Village Centre.

5FM DJs playing at the Secret of Summer party include Nick Hamman, Rob Forbes, DJ Loyd, and Ultimix resident Ryan the DJ, while Das Kapital, DJ pH and Msizi James will be in Ballito. In addition, on New Year’s Eve, on-air presenters will be crossing live to the various parties around the country where the 5FM DJs are at.

Varsity 7s Rugby and Varsity Volleyball with Varsity Sports will be taking place in Durban from Saturday, 2 December to Sunday, 3 December. Nick Hamman will be broadcasting live from Kings Park with his 5FM Chart Show from 10:00 to 14:00 on Saturday, 2 December followed by Nicole da Silva’s Weekend Playdate from 14:00 to 17:00, as well as on Sunday, 3 December from 14:00 to 17:00.

Saturday, 2 December also sees the last Muddy Princess obstacle mud race for the year taking place in Sandringham in Cape Town.
