Similarly, HOT 102.7FM says that it first tested the waters of the new stream with the launch of 'HOT CHRISTMAS' over the festive season, which played classic Christmas hits. Due to this "seasonal" stream's success, it has now been repurposed with new content, with the channel being kept open to accommodate musical content and information related to upcoming HOT 102.7FM-partnered events.

In this way, the radio station says that the stream now features music and content specific to the upcoming Let's Rock retro festival at Marks Park in Emmarentia on Saturday, 15 February, of which HOT 102.7FM is a media partner of Breakout Events, the festival's promoter.

"What better way to get fired up for a concert you've bought tickets for than to access music specific to that concert on a user-friendly app, right in the palm of your hand?" says Lloyd Madurai, Managing Director of HOT 102.7FM. "As with the other streams we've already launched, it's all about listening to the needs of our audience and providing them with more options — all within the broader HOT 102.7FM ecosystem — whilst staying true to our 'Old Skool' format."

The 'Let's Rock' stream features music from the artists who'll be performing at the festival, adds the radio station. On top of that, the stream features interviews with some of the artists and covers some of the FAQs for the festival, including useful information relevant to those attending, such as times and entry restrictions.

"It's everything you need, if you're a Let's Rock concert-goer," says Madurai. "But, beyond that and looking ahead, this new channel just gives us another digital tool with which to add value for both our loyal listeners and our commercial partners, and that excites me."

The 'Let's Rock' stream can be accessed on the HOT 102.7FM website or app. The strategic launch of this new music stream follows the overwhelming success of the app since its unveiling in April 2023, giving the station another platform on which to engage its loyal audience, says the station.

HOT 102.7FM concludes that the 'Let's Rock' stream will again be repurposed after the festival has taken place, with new content populating it.
