Rapid Blue, part of BBC Studios and one of Africa's production companies, has announced new leadership structure that positions Refiloe Montso as Chief Operating Officer and Grant Flynn as Chief Creative Officer. Together, they will serve as joint leaders of the company, driving innovation and creativity across all projects.
Founded in 1993, Rapid Blue is one of Africa’s production companies, known for delivering high-quality formats and original programming. As part of BBC Studios, Rapid Blue combines local expertise with global values to produce award-winning content across genres, including reality, scripted and entertainment. Rapid Blue continues to deliver premium productions with a diverse slate of shows, including upcoming local adaptation of the global hit The Office for Showmax and KykNET, and the much-anticipated eleventh series of Come Dine With Me South Africa for BBC Lifestyle on DStv, says the production company.
Refiloe Montso joined Rapid Blue as Business and Legal Affairs Manager in 2024 and has been instrumental in strengthening the company's operational framework and ensuring compliance across productions. Her experience spans legal strategy, business operations and production management, making her a key driver of Rapid Blue's growth, adds the company.
Grant Flynn, who joined Rapid Blue in 2021, is known for his creative vision and leadership in developing groundbreaking formats. Grant's previous positions include Head of Sales and Development, Head of Creative Development and Head of Business Development and Commercial Affairs, giving him extensive experience in unscripted ideation, format localisation and structuring deals with broadcasters, distributors and commercial brands, says the company.
