In 1999, Buwa and Soweto Community merged to create Jozi FM. Since then, the station has grown to become one of the largest community radio stations in the country. Jozi FM’s footprint includes Soweto and the surrounding areas and a LSM that ranges from segment 4 to 10. The male-female listenership ratio is 52.9:47.1, in a variety of age groups.

Jozi FM was the first community station to be listed on DStv’s audio bouquet, which has widened its footprint throughout the country and the continent. The station has a strong focus on the needs of its geographical market, which range from education; information; and fun and entertainment. The station reaches listeners via its website; mobi; audio streaming; and outdoor branding offerings.
