Commercial radio station, 5FM, has announced its new line-up, effective from 1 April. The line-up encompasses a variety of exciting new changes including a shake-up of weekend scheduling and a solid weekday line-up delivering the best of both upcoming and premium talent. Weekends will offer some decidedly cool new content resulting in cutting-edge; trendy; and personality-based radio.

5FM has also made some additions to its team with some hot new DJs, including Jon Savage (lead singer of Cassette); Elma Smit (MK presenter); Nicole da Silva (Radio 2000); Dineo Lusenga (YFM); C-Live (YFM) and Thomas Msengana (Metro FM) who will be spread across electrifying new shows on both weekends and weekdays.

In the 22:00 to midnight slot on weekdays, 5FM will be introducing a brand new range of shows called '5FM Power Nites', which aim to bring 5FM listeners the latest in cutting-edge music across a variety of different genres. John Savage will be bringing his 'Rock god' cool to the fore through his Power Nite of Rock; Fikile 'Fix' Moeti will match her musical prowess to Power Nite of Pop; former YFM DJ, C-Live will bring down the house with a Power Nite of Hip Hop and R&B; and 5FM’s Fresh and Euphonik will give listeners the inside scoop on Power Nite of Dance & Kwaito.

New personalities that have been injected into the weekend line-up include Dineo Lusenga in the early mornings with Thomas Msengana taking the prime weekend breakfast slot on Saturdays and Sundays. Existing 5FM DJ’s Sureshnie Rider and Koula will be partnering to present a weekend show offering a wide variety of content tailored for 5FM’s lifestyle orientated audience.
