RMB Starlight Classics present an evening under the stars
Media 220
RMB Starlight Classics, an evening of Afro-symphonic musical entertainment, will once again be held “under the stars” on the Great Lawn of Vergelegen, the historic Cape wine estate in Somerset West.
Conductor Richard Cock will embrace the audience with his inimitable style and ability to make classical music accessible to everyone. Exceptional musical talent includes: Joseph Clark with a tribute to Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury; South African-born and Berlin-based opera star Musa Nkuna, who is currently principal lyric tenor at Staatsstheater Schwerin in Germany; aspiring young soprano Friedel Mitas who has performed in many well-known operas; flamboyant saxophonist Andrew Young, nominated for the SA Music Awards five times; dynamic songbird Nomfundo Xaluva and Charlize Berg, the talented 19-year old Afrikaans vocalist.
Accompanied by the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and the SA Youth Choir are dancers from the Cape Town City Ballet and the Ubuntu B-boys. This line-up promises a magical mix of Afro-symphonic “music and movement”, endorsing RMB’s philosophy and commitment to supporting and showcasing young talent.
The audience is invited to bring their own picnics, blankets and low fold-up chairs.
