On their island paradise this band of primate friends live to play music. With the help of their sloth mentor, music guru DJ Loose, they manage to create that unique sound just in time for their daily performance, ‘The Big Zing’.

Gorilla and lead singer Zak provides vocals while musical genius and lead guitarist, Tang the orang-utan, creates the most wonderful compositions. The band is styled by chimpanzee bass guitarist and keyboard player Panzee, and monkey percussionist Drum always lays down a great beat.

As well as these regular island dwellers, the island is visited in each episode by a different musical guest. Ranging from a full concert orchestra to a lone saxophonist or a bottle neck guitarist, this series embraces and celebrates musical genres from around the world. The ZingZillas always discover their musical guests in a jungle glade which pulsates with music. They take inspiration from the guests and incorporate them and their sounds into ‘The Big Zing’.

ZingZillas is a musical feast which uses a narrative drive to inspire a young audience to listen to and create music for themselves.

In these brand new episodes, Zak gets excited about his banana car being featured in the Big Zing, Todd loses his favourite hat and Panzee gets upset when she realises there are no shops on ZingZilla Island. Where will she buy a seashell necklace?

The second season of ZingZillas begins on Monday, 11 February at 08:20 and 16:20 on CBeebies, channel 306 on DStv.
