Heart FM DJ’s and local celebrities participate in a range of fun activities planned for the day. All attendees are enticed to brave the cold waters and dive into the ocean as a celebration of the coming of Spring.

The 2014 Spring Dip will take place on Muizenberg Beach (Surfer’s Corner) on Saturday, 20 September between 10:00 and 14:00 with a packed programme including: Touch rugby, volley ball, tug-of-war, flag sprint and learn2surf. There’s also tons of fun for the kids including, jumping castles, ball pond games, spray on tattoos and a treasure hunt.

The very successful “Dunk the DJ” will be back, giving the listeners a chance to have fun with the DJ’s.

Cape Town’s top artists will entertain the crowd including, Alistair Izobell, Loukmaan Adams, Sundae (His song, High on Life with Ashleigh Davids is on the Heart 104.9FM charts) and the amazing dance crew - Out of Africa Dance Company. DJ Vernon Carver will bring the soundtrack of one’s life alive on stage.

Missing Children SA (MCSA) will ensure the safety of the children. They tag each child with the parents’ permission; the child receives an armband which contains a unique number. A form with the same unique number is filled out by the parent containing information on each child (physical description and clothing description) as well as the parent’s details. Should a child go missing at the event, the parents immediately alert MCSA. They then send out their volunteers/staff in search of the child. Alternatively, should a child be separated from their parents, the child can immediately make their way to the MCSA table and MCSA will find their form and contact their parents to reunite them.

NSRI are on standby and will provide two buoys, to make sure swimmers don’t go too far, eight life guards will be on duty keeping the swimmers safe and Shark Watchers will be present. A Cape Town Tourism mobile visitor information centre will be on site.

Two popular traditions that have become entrenched at Heart FM’s annual Spring Dip are the Dance Off’s and the Mass Dip.
