Each week the show’s hilarious hosts, Kenneth Nkosi and Tats Nkonzo, will select contestants and get them to play some crazy games. The prize? One could win money to pay towards an unpaid bill – or, for the final winner, a large portion of the total amount owing will be taken care of.
“The show is irreverent in many ways but at its heart is the very serious fact that we know that many of our viewers are frequently battling to pay their bills,” says Nkateko Mabaso, M-Net’s Director for Local Interest Channels. “
Give Me that Bill Mzansi is our way of making light of situations and giving people in need a helping hand.”
Auditions for Mzansi Magic viewers to be part of the programme are set to take place on Saturday, 1 and Sunday, 2 November at Bassline in Newtown - 10 Henry Nxumalo St, Johannesburg. Door open at 08:00 and stay open until 17:00. Please note that one should arrive early to avoid long queues.
Importantly, potential participants in
Give Me that Bill Mzansi are required to bring along bills that are linked to a wild, funny, bizarre, touching or even embarrassing story.
In this world of no ordinary bills, this could be an incredibly expensive telephone bill, the laundry bill for the red wine that one tipped all over one’s mother-in-law’s designer frock, the gym classes that one promised one’s spouse one would definitely cancel, expensive extras for that wedding party that broke the budget, the fake ticket that one bought for a live concert or even the water damage that resulted when one’s neighbour asked one to help rescue his donkey from a ditch and one forgot to switch off one’s bath (don’t laugh – it has happened). If one has a story attached to one’s bill,
Give Me that Bill Mzansi wants to hear it.
One will be eligible for selection and may qualify as a contestant if one satisfies three key criteria – a bill with a story, over 18 years of age and a vibrant personality. If one feels that one qualifies,
click here, then on ‘entry form’, complete the form and bring it along to one’s audition. For those entrants who are unable to do this, forms will also be available at audition venues.
