The sitcom is set in the wrong side of Muldersdrift, where the Beseni family operates a one-star B&B that attracts a buffet of hilarious guests.
Maku plays the role of Nobuhle ‘Buhle’ Beseni and is joined by a cast of popular South African actors such as Siphiwe Hlabangane as Duma ‘Boss’ Beseni, Thembaletu Ntuli as Cuba and Marah Louw as Ma Mgcina.
“B&B is my first big acting job and I’m excited for everyone to see what I’ve done with the Buhle Beseni character as we have very different personalities. I do however relate to Buhle in terms of her wanting to be accepted by the B&B family and grow the business, as I also want to be accepted and grow as an actress in the industry,” says Maku.
Maku broke into the acting and presenting scene in 2007 when she featured in SABC1’s drama
Interrogation Room as well as presented on SABC2’s
Hectic Nine-9. She later went on to present the likes of
Playa Soccer,
Ignition Car TV,
Razorworks Sports View and most recently
Pup Up TV on SABC3.
B&B will air every Saturday on e.tv at 18:30 for the next 26 weeks.
